Women on Mission

Women on Mission at FBC, is a WMU, (Women’s Mission Union) in the Southern Baptist Convention, missions organization, that focuses on praying for missions, learning about missions, engaging in mission action and witnessing, developing spiritually, and giving to missions.

WOM meets the 4th Monday night of each month at 6:30pm at FBC.  All women are invited to fellowship, pray for missions and learn about current mission activities. A time of fellowship and refreshments provides opportunity for getting acquainted.

Ongoing projects include:

  • Collecting paper products for Set Free ranches
  • Serving food to the homeless at Third Avenue Charitable Organization in downtown San Diego on the 2nd Friday morning each month
  • Preparing sandwiches each week for the homeless near our church
  • Collecting food for pastors in Tijuana
  • Taking baked goods to shut-ins
  • Providing meals for the sick
  • Collecting school supplies for the family ministry at Set Free and our community school
  • Providing thank-you gifts for teachers and staff at a nearby school
  • Meeting other needs as they ariseSpecial Celebrations throughout the year include:
  • A Missions Valentine Banquet
  • A Missions Celebration meeting with missionary speakers in September
  • A study of an International Missions country in November.

Mission offerings are promoted each year for North American Missions, State Missions, Hunger, and International Missions, along with special seasons of prayer for each area.
